Christoph Stegner is a Staff Scientist in the research group Health Systems and Health Policy. He studied economics at the University of Vienna and joined IHS in July 2018.

His research focuses on healthcare systems, workforce dynamics, and the economic impact of health policies. He has also worked on responses to COVID-19, health system resilience, and the implications of out-of-pocket expenditures for Austrian households. He has been involved in projects for the European Union and the World Health Organization. Using both quantitative and qualitative methods, he analyzes key challenges in the healthcare sector, aiming to provide evidence-based insights for improving health policy and system efficiency.
