IHS study shows income differences among physicians

An IHS study analysed data on the income of physicians in 2022. Results show, among other things, that contract physicians earned twice as much on average as elective physicians. Physicians in cities recorded lower incomes (€190,815) than those in rural areas (€206,902), especially if they had a practice dispensary (€263,854). Specialist group affiliation and gender also had a significant influence on income: female SHI-contracted physicians earned 74.4 % of the income of their male colleagues.
