In a new open access paper published in journal The Learning Organization, members of the IHS research group for Science, Technology and Social Transformation argue that action research methodology social labs can be also considered as temporary learning organizations. This could assist governance institutions, such as in science governance, to better learn and respond to social challenges and required transformations, while still delivering their governance responsibilities without disruption. The data for the paper stems from NewHoRRIzon, a H2020 multi-institutional project coordinated by the group.
