  • Martin Ertl has been a Senior Researcher at IHS since 2021 and is part of the research group Business Cycles, Growth and Public Finances. He was a Chief Economist at UNIQA Insurance Group from 2011 to 2020. Martin earned his doctorate in Economics from Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Barcelona School of Economics and a Magister in Economics from WU. 

    His research interests are in international macroeconomics, monetary policy and economic forecasting. He works with firm micro data, applies econometric methods and has expertise in building dynamic stochastic general equilibrium models. Martin is a member of the IHS economic forecast group, where he is responsible for Austrian exports and imports as well as country forecasts (France, Italy, USA). His research is often applied and policy-oriented.
