Vlasta Zucha is the Head of the Competence Center Survey Research and joined IHS in 2019. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Vienna. Before joining IHS, Vlasta was project manager of the Microcensus Housing Survey and responsible for housing statistics at Statistics Austria. From 1999 to 2012, she was a project manager and researcher at SORA, and a lecturer on research methodology and quantitative methods at the University of Vienna.

Her research interests focus on survey design and methodology, especially questionnaire design, data management, data harmonization and equivalence in international and large-scale surveys. She has conducted numerous studies in the field of higher education research, housing, migration, labor and political participation. Her work aims to design and implement quantitative surveys to collect high-quality data for scientific purposes. In addition, she is committed to progressive research data policy.
