  • Nuoyi Wang has been a Junior Researcher in the Junior Research Group Digitalization and Social Transformation at IHS since January 2025. Nuoyi holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Journalism and Communication Studies from Fudan University in China. In addition, she studied Social Sciences and Economics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam through an exchange programme.

    Her research interests specifically lie in the political economy of Artificial Intelligence, digital capitalism, digital feminism, and platform studies, approached from a critical political economic perspective. For her Master’s thesis, she conducted a case study of the Chinese platform RedNote, examining the intertwined power dynamics between platforms and users, with a particular focus on gender norms. Nuoyi's work highlights the complex interplay between technology and systemic gender inequalities.
