Gerlinde Titelbach is a Senior Researcher in the research group Social Cohesion and Polarization, and has joined the Institute as part of the academic staff in 2010. She studied sociology at the University of Vienna (BA-equivalent 2007, MA-equivalent 2009).
Her research addresses issues in the areas of labor market and employment policy, income structures and distribution as well as (related) socio-political issues of social inequality and social participation (inclusion/exclusion). Her primarily applied research for national and European public institutions is also used for policy advice. Her methodological focus is on quantitative analysis of representative microdata sets, including survey data (e.g. LFS, EU-SILC, etc.) and register resp. administrative data (e.g. social insurance data, PES data, wage tax data, etc.).
