Lea Koisser is currently pursuing her PhD in Socioeconomics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business at the Department of Health Economics and Policy. Her dissertation focuses on the effectiveness and socioeconomic impact of cardiac rehabilitation and is supervised by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Marcel Bilger. She initially joined IHS as a Student Assistant in 2021.  

Her research focuses on equity and efficiency in health care access and outcomes, health services research and resource allocation, and the impact of innovation on various aspects of the health care system, with a current emphasis on cardiovascular diseases. She is currently pursuing her research interests in the ERA PerMed-funded project "Dawn-AF", where she is involved in the economic analysis and the patient perspective. She employs both quantitative and qualitative methods.
