Monika Mühlböck is a Senior Researcher in the research group Educational Structures and Educational Opportunities. She studied Political Science (PhD 2012) and Mathematics (BSc 2013) at the University of Vienna. In addition to her position at IHS, which she joined in 2021, she is Assistant Professor at the University of Vienna. Previously, she held positions at the University of Mannheim, the University of Salzburg, and the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

Monika has been Visiting Professor at Central European University (CEU), European Union Center of Excellence Fellow at the University of Colorado and Visiting Researcher at the University of Turku. Her research interests include education and labor market research, as well as public policy. Specifically, she studies the transition from education to employment. She also serves as scientific coordinator of the Austrian Socio-Economic Panel.
