Viktor Dorofeenko is a Staff Scientist and member of the research group Labor Markets and the World of Work. After graduating in physics from Rostov State University, Russia, in 1980, he received his Ph.D. from the Physics Institute of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences in Kyiv in 1985. He subsequently was a senior research fellow at Rostov State University and at the General Physics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. After completing the IHS Postgraduate Program in Economics in 2001, he joined the institute as a staff member.
His expertise covers a wide range of formal and numerical methods, including dynamic economic modeling, scientific computing, and handling large data sets. His current research interests focus on the empirical analysis of labor markets and pension and social security systems based on administrative data from the Austrian social security system.
