Project Information: This project, commissioned by the Faculty of Informatics at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Vienna), evaluated the introductory and orientation period (StEOP) of the university’s five computer science curricula in terms of structure, organisation, and content. The evaluation provided an in-depth analysis of the current implementation of the StEOP and pointed at problems and tensions. The evaluation strongly built on the views and opinions of lecturers and students. Based on these insights and state of the art literature, the project provided recommendations for a restructuring of the current StEOP.
